TREATMENT OF BAD BREATH - WITH KFORCE BALANCE & BREATHGUARD

The treatment described below uses products and protocol developed by Dr Speiser at Australian Breath Clinics. The treatment involves a 5Day Biofilm Cleaning with Balance, followed by a 27Day Maintain Kit with either Balance or BreathGuard depending on falvour preference. This is explained below.

STAGE 1 - ELIMINATION OF BIOFILM THAT CAUSES BAD BREATH
Biofilm (Coatings) build up on the tongue surface, teeth, gums and back of throat every day. If the biofilm is allowed to remain in the mouth or throat then it will break down to smells. Our 5Day Treatment involves cleaning away the biofilm twice a day. This ensures that you have removed the food source that the bad breath bacteria use to create smells. The system is used morning and night for a full 5 days.

Balance Rinse. Is a pH raising liquid packaged in two separate bottles to ensure maximum activity when used. You simply mix one capful of each bottle into the supplied mixing vial and clean your teeth, gums and tongue as described in the included instructions. Each set of bottles contains 10 doses. This is enough for a full 5Days. The Balance Rinse has a strong menthol flavour to leave a powerful long lasting clean feeling well after use. In fact our patients tell us that when using it last thing at night, they always wake up clean and refreshed without morning breath.

Balance Paste. This is a non foaming paste that we recommend for cleaning the teeth, gums and tongue. The non foaming quality allows easy cleaning at the back of the tongue right to the gag reflex. This is a known problem area. Directly in front of the gag reflex is a pool of bacteria that supplies the whole mouth and the pockets under the gums. It is common for patients that do not clean this area to complain of a stale taste in their mouths within 10 minutes after doing their morning cleaning ritual. Balance is designed to easily reach this area and thus end this common problem.

Lifestyle Guide. Products are important, but if you do not adjust your lifestyle then you will severely hamper the Balance effectiveness. STAGE 2 - MAINTAINING A FRESH HEALTHY MOUTH
After 5 days you begin a maintenance program. This program uses either our Balance Menthol Products with NXT02 or our BreathGuard Mild Mint Products with Active Chlorine Dioxide. Both ranges work equally as well, and it just comes down to your flavour preference.

The Maintenance Stage focuses on our breakthrough product KForce K12 that we developed with Otago University and BLIS Technologies. KForce K12 is a patented probiotic that will live on the tongue surface and help to continually fight bad breath bacteria. So you will take a dose of K12 every day. To help the K12, you will also use our non foaming gel or paste to clean your tongue and teeth, and our special mouthwash every few days to keep the status quo.

Here is an interesting experiment we do at Dr Speiser's Australian Breath Clinic to show how efficient our KForce K12 Probiotics are at stopping the bacteria that cause bad breath KForce Probiotic and Bad breath bacteria experiment .

The top yellow streak are bad breath bacteria scraped from mouth biofilm and grown in a blood agar plate.

The bottom white streak are KForce bacteria grown on the same blood agar plate.

The test is in the middle of the plate. We placed a streak of KForce K12 bacteria, and then a streak of bad breath bacteria over the top of the KForce K12. As you can see, the KForce K12 are able to control the bad breath bacteria.

Of course the above experiment is done in a laboratory environment (in vitro) at our clinic. In real life many factors also come in to play that can affect how efficient our KForce K12 Probiotics are. Therefore the Australian Breath Clinic conducted a live trial in 2004 with KForce Breath Guard, and is just completing another live trial with the new KForce Balance System. The results for both systems are identical.

Patients reported an instant clean taste in their mouth immediately on using the KForce Breath Guard Program and the KForce Balance System.
Patients reported less phlegm with consistent use of the Saline Nasal Flush. Some reported removal of the "lump in the throat" feeling.
Patients reported fresh breath that could last the whole day. This meant there was less need for supporting aids such as chewing gum. However we still recommend Xylitol gum during the day to increase saliva flow.
Patients reported less "morning breath" when they used the system as directed just before going to sleep.

Above is a graph from the Halicheck Oral Chroma showing how successful the Balance 5Day Treatment can be. The Green Vertical Bars are the readings of Bad Breath Gases, and if the Green Bars are bigger then the Horizontal Yellow Line, then the smell is considered to be bad breath. This above graph shows the before and after of one of our clinic patients after undergoing the Balance Treatment.

Left Hand Graph. This shows the three gases as follows; Hydrogen Sulphide 2058ppb, Methyl Mercaptan 2792ppb, and Dimethyl Sulphide 450ppb. These readings are so high that the Halicheck Oral Chroma is unable to measure higher for the first two gases. We then asked the patient to use the Balance System with the Balance Rinse and Balance Paste containing NXTO2. we supervised the cleaning to ensure it was correctly done.

Right Hand Graph. You can see that there is virtually no more bad breath on the right hand graph. In fact the new readings were; Hydrogen Sulphide 0ppb, Methyl Mercaptan 0ppb, and Dimethyl Sulphide 4ppb. These results were obtained only one hour after the first reading. This amazing result shows not only how effective the Balance Treatment can be, but also how quickly it can take effect.
