PROBIOTICS & BAD BREATH BACTERIA TEST

Bad breath is the waste product from billions of bacteria that live in our mouths. The bacteria live specifically on our tongue, in plaque on our teeth, in the back of the throat and sometimes in our nasal passages. These bad breath bacteria grow very quickly when the mouth becomes a hostile environment. This often happens when we consume acids or proteins such as coffee, soft drink sports drinks or dairy products. Or if we have chronic problems such as nasal mucous dry mouth we encourage the growth of bad breath bacteria.

Did you know it is estimated that 30% of the population have an ongoing bad breath or halitosis problem. One study even showed that 50% of middle aged people have offensive breath. That's correct, the older you get the more the bad breath will increase. This is simply a result of the decreased saliva flow that happens as you age. Saliva is a crucial aspect of a healthy mouth and also fresh breath.

KForce Bad Breath Experiment

Here is an interesting experiment we do at our Australian Breath Clinic to show how efficient our KForce Probiotics are at stopping the bacteria that cause bad breath.

The top yellow streak are bad breath bacteria that are grown in a blood agar plate.

The bottom white streak are KForce bacteria grown on the same blood agar plate.

This experiment takes place in the middle of the agar plate. We have placed a streak of KForce Probiotic bacteria, and then immediately placed a streak of the bad breath bacteria over the top of the KForce. As you can see, the KForce is able to completely control the bad breath bacteria with none surviving, and in the end only the KForce Probiotic is present.

Real Life Situations

Of course the above experiment is done in a laboratory environment (in vitro) at our clinic. In real life many factors also come in to play that can affect how efficient our KForce Probiotics are. Therefore the Australian Breath Clinic conducted a live trial in 2004. Our results were totally amazing.

• Patients reported an instant clean taste in their mouth immediately on using the KForce Breath Guard Program which included the KForce Pre Rinse and KForce K12 probiotic along with the KForce Tongue Cleaning Gel.
• Patients reported less phlegm with consistent use. Some reported removal of the "lump in the throat" feeling.
• Patients reported fresh breath that could last the whole day. This meant there was less need for supporting aids such as chewing gum. However we still recommend Xylitol gum during the day to increase saliva flow.
• Patients reported less "morning breath" when they also used our Breeze Oral Gel and our tongue cleaning program last thing at night.

In fact during the trial we had two absolutely amazing results. One subject dropped their breath score from 1400 to 250 in one week. Breath scores measure the amount of sulphur compounds (VSC's) in a person's breath. A reading of 1400 indicates that you could still smell the odour up to 5 minutes after the person has left the room. The second person dropped their breath score from 1150 to 150. Anything under 150 is considered a normal breath reading. These patients were people who had suffered most of their lives with the embarrassment of bad breath.

Our results are now extremely predictable with a high rate of success in preventing and treating cases of bad breath.
